Been a little bit...

Well, it has been over a week since i have posted. And during that time, I had a really bad week with food (just eating whatever I felt like and not tracking), I gained weight as a result of that bad week, I chopped my hair off (hasn't been this short in a LONG time) but I love it!!

So, I started fresh on Sunday and also started training for a 10km run that I hope to do with a friend of mine in September. Going alright so far... no big long runs yet and I get to throw in some biking and rollerblading for cross training!!

I also got a call for a job interview but wasn't home to take the call (was at the hair salon). So, I have to call them back on Thursday and am really hoping to get this job. I have been out of work  (in my field) for 6 months now and really want to get back into it. This job would be a 3 minute drive from where I live and I wouldn't have to commute (which I am a little tired of - I have been commuting for 6 years). And, if the job was 3 days a week...that would be the icing on the cake...but if they are looking for full time...I won't complain. I need a job so I can earn up Mat Leave again. Oh, and if I get the job... I won't give up on my 20lbs goal. I will continue with that because I won't be getting pregnant the day I get the call for the job... I would wait a few months before trying.

Anyway, all is quiet around here for the moment so I am going to go and enjoy it!

Keep on chuggin' along!

Well, here we are again. Into my 3rd week of my 20lbs journey. Although this week has been harder. For the first few days of the week... I was really hungry and just wanted to eat everything and some times I did. Then I stopped myself thinking "I don't want to gain back some of the weight I have already lost just to lose it again!".  So, I am trying really hard to get past this little road block.

I am eating lightly today as tonight we are going with the inlaws out for dinner and then to see Riverdance. It is one of those dinner/show packages so I have no idea what will be for dinner and I don't have any flex points left as I believe I used those up in the beginning of the week. Not very good planning on my part! Oh well. As long as I don't gain I will be happy. Just need to keep working hard.

This is my last week of watching kids. So, after this week, I am going to get myself into a routine where I can get more exercise in. Especially if I am going to train for a 10km run in Sept.

The weather has been so nice out there that I have been playing with the kids in the backyard while husband is doing post holes for the fence. Can't wait to have the fence in the backyard!! It will be so nice. Hoping to have a BBQ once it is finished!

Anyway, kids are having lunch. I need to eat (which will probably consist of cabbage and 1/2 pb sandwich).

See you all soon!

Weigh in and 5km run!!

Well, I just finished my 4th 5 km run! Didn't do as well as I did last time but still finished. I have this cramp in my right foot that bothered me today! But I finished it!! Today was also my weigh in day and down another 2.5lbs. So, total is 5.5 in 2 weeks... pretty good I must say! I have been doing quite well even though there was a night of not so good foods!!

Friday night we went to my fav restaurant... Mongolian Grill. And I even ate wisely. Instead of putting in noodles, I used bean sprouts. And I loaded up my bowl with veggies. Was very good still. (if you haven't been to Mongolian Grill... It is a make your own stir-fry type of place where they grill it right in front of you on this huge grill - very yummy!). So, I felt quite good walking out of there knowing I made good choices. And I skipped dessert because when I looked them up prior to going...they ranged between 17-34 points - yikes!

Anyway, here is to a new week... hope I can continue doing well... this 20lbs should be gone in no time!!

One night can't ruin the week!

Well, I caved in lastnight... It was Ribfest here in town and my inlaws went and got ribs, fries and had dessert there. My plan was to just have a little bit of ribs...with salad and no dessert. When I got to my inlaws... there were no veggies or salad....lots of fries and ribs waiting. So, I grabbed some ribs (a few too many) and some fries. Not to bad as I had saved up most of my daily points for this and had some Flex points remaining as well as activity points. Then came dessert... last time we were at my inlaws.. they had this pie called Grasshopper Mint Pie...very yummy and I declined last time (good girl)... but this time I had some. not a bit slice, but one that would satisfy my craving. Then there were cookies sitting on the counter...oops... ate  2 of those... then came the guilt...knowing full well that eating them wasn't helping me to my goal at all... I had a moment of weakness. But, I know I had extra points...and for the next few days I am going to get more Activity points.

I weigh in on Sundays but checking it this morning and was down 1. So I am ok with that at the moment. I decided to order a new scale... one that measure weight loss in 0.1 increments. Mine does it by 0.5 increments. And the new one measures body fat and body water as well! So, I am excited about getting that...could take up to 3 weeks as I ordered it with the points on my Visa. Funny how one can get excited about a bathroom scale!!

How come...

Ever notice that when you want something, but can't have it (just yet)... it seems every where you look...there it is?? I have. See, I have been wanting to have another baby for a few months now...but because I am in between jobs right now... my husband would like to wait till I have another job... but seeing how hard it has been the past few months for me to find something... he is coming to the realization that it may take a while... and is starting to feel it isn't fair to let outside circumstances determine things. So anyway, that's why we came to an agreement that job or me losing 20lbs..which ever comes first...then it's game time!!

So, it seems every one around me is pregnant or just had a baby. So, it does get a little frustrating at times but it also motivates me to stick to the program! I am hoping to have lost 20lbs by September and that will be our anniversary month and my son's 2nd birthday. Good month.

Anyway, just an observation on my part...

Lastnight I went to a Steeped Tea party and it was fun. Tried some different teas ( I enjoy tea) and bought a few different teas for myself. One that I am anxious to try is called After Eight and is supposed to taste similar to the After Eight chocolates!! Mmmm. Here's hoping!  Nice to get to out and spend an evening with other women! I need to get out more often like that!

More to come!

New Motivation!!

Well, last night I had a great conversation with an old friend. She is also doing WW and has lost an incredible amount of weight!! She and I are now about the same weight and have almost the same amount left to lose. It is really inspiring talking to her as she is going to run a 10km run in September! I, as you all my know, am doing another 5km run this weekend. I am not as prepared this time for it as I hoped to be. But, hearing that she is training for the 10 km gave me a new drive! I am even contemplating training for the 10km run and joining her in Sept. in Toronto!! Crazy, maybe. But a year ago I never thought I would be able to run a 5km run, let alone 4! So it is possible. Just need to get used to running in the heat!

Yesterday didn't go as well as I hoped regarding food. I was really tired yesterday and seemed to be really hungry all day long. I ended up eating more than my daily points last night as I sat and watched the Bachelorette! But, I am not going to let it get me down. It was one night...and I can take it out of my AP or my weekly points! Today is a new day!! And a beautiful one at that! So, I will be getting outside and enjoying it at some point!

Yesterday's weigh in

Well, yesterday morning I stepped on the scale and it isn't one of the WW kind where it tells you even if you lost 0.1 of a pound. Mine goes by every half pound... so it ended up being 3lbs that I lost this past week. 17 to go! I am happy with that. This week I will try to get a little more cardio in. Seeing I have my 5km run on Sunday, I have to get a few runs in this week to prepare myself!

I have been feeling really good the past few days and I am thinking it is my better eating habits the past week. Although today I just feel drained and I am blaming that on my 2 late nights this weekend... But, it was a good weekend so I am not complaining too much!

Well, I have 2 toddlers running around causing trouble so I will touch base with you all a little later!

Oh, I have already got an hour long walk pulling a wagon with 2 toddlers in it in this morning! Yay for me!
